This is an on-going temporary position with an immediate start available.
The role of Telemarketer has been filled in the past by individuals who have all progressed to a sales role within approximately 2 years. Anybody joining the team will need the desire to progress themselves over a similar period aiming to make the transition to a sales position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
Using snexisting databases make prospecting telephone calls to businesses in East Anglia and the UK
Calls are ‘non-selling’ i.e. the objective of the call is not to secure an order or appointment but using intelligent open questioning, initially script based, identify whether an opportunity exists to sell our products and services now or in the future
Whilst call targets will be set there is currently no target related bonus scheme but there are call objectives and commensurate completed call rates
Having identified a business that may wish to purchase Onyx products or services consult with the sales team to establish: -
a. What type of literature should be sent
b. Whether a member of the sales or telemarketing team should make a follow up phone call OR
c. Whether an appointment should be made by telemarketing to visit the prospect.
Within 3-4 months Telemarketer/s will be expected to develop a sufficient understanding of the products and services being promoted to make decisions regarding a,b or c without reference to the sales team
To perform data cleaning duties from time to time to ensure the database records used for prospecting are refreshed and correct
To periodically manage our operational email marketing linked with our existing databases
For the team member with the appropriate interest and skills the following activities offer some variation from normal telemarketing duties
a. To assist the Sales Director and sales team with the conception and execution of marketing campaigns and seminars
b. Suggest artwork ideas for mailers and flyers
c. To attend seminars, trade shows and other company events to promote the products and services
Candidate Requirements & Additional Skills include:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 12 months outbound telephone call experience in a telemarketing or telesales environment and must self motivated and have a desire to progress their career
Candidates should be well presented, have a pleasant telephone manner and very good communication skills with some background in customer services being an advantage
It is essential that the candidate has a good command of English grammar and must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP/Microsoft Office and accompanying typing skills
Experience of ACT Contact Management or other contact management / CRM software would be an advantage
