Community Librarian
Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library
£16,941 - £23,405 per annum
37 hours per week, to cover Maternity leave
We are looking for a person who is passionate about libraries, reading and learning, to engage with the local community in Norwich to ensure local needs are met and library services are delivered in an enthusiastic and flexible way.
A key part of this role is outreach into the local community to promote the services offered at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library and to help in the delivery of new and innovative services to help maintain this Library as the busiest in the UK.
You will take the lead role in work with Early Years (0-8 yrs) but be expected to work with all ages and client groups. Also some work will be within the Library, for example, leading reading activities, class visits and running I.T. Taster sessions.
You will need to be quick to learn, friendly and approachable, organised, a team player but able to work on your own initiative and a good communicator. You will be committed to learning and to community development and combating social exclusion.
You do not need to be a qualified Librarian.
Some evening and weekend work may be required.
