We are seeking a part time Registrar to join the team in the Norwich Register Office. Reporting to the Registration Manager in the office, the successful candidate will carry out a range of registration duties: registering births, deaths and marriages and searching and issuing certificates. The role requires four 7-hour days a week and one Saturday in four in the office with some flexibility to cover sickness and leave.
We have over 100 venues licensed for ceremonies and some of these venues are not on public transport routes. Applicants need to be flexible and available to work during the week at weekends and Bank Holidays, sometimes at short notice.
The hourly rate is applicable to office work. A ceremony fee and lump sum is paid for venue work.
For the above posts, please note that experience in the Registration Service is desirable but not essential. Candidates will need to possess an eye for detail for this very involving and interesting work. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have experience of working with the public face to face.
Please be aware that the working week for registration staff includes regular Saturday work in the office and additional time attending venues for ceremonies that may not be on public transport routes.
